- Offering career guidance and helping primary and secondary students develop career objectives.
- Advocating for students in school activities.
- Providing classroom advice and academic mentoring.
- Interacting with teachers and parents and collaborating with administrators.
- Helping students adjust to the culture of a particular school.
- Completing administrative tasks and working with school staff to create a supportive environment.
- Advising current and prospective students on educational issues, career planning and personal development, and coordinating the provision of counselling services to students, parents, teachers, faculty and staff.
- Providing support for students experiencing family, personal, or economic crises, which may impact school performance.
- Performing specialized work duties as necessary during registration periods.
